The food project is an initiative of surplus food management in the city of Kolkata with a clear aim of touching as many lives as possible on a daily basis and ensuring that no one sleeps hungry. The initiative came into existence during the first national lockdown due to Covid in March 2020. With people going out of work, there was all the more need to ensure that the community as a whole does not suffer. Our dedicated team of volunteers committed to this cause has worked tirelessly to ensure that the objectives of this project are achieved.

In the past one and a half years many things have changed, we have adapted to a new normal but the pandemic has wreaked havoc on the underprivileged. Some have lost their jobs and some are homeless and, the senior citizens being the most vulnerable don’t have a single grain to their name. Our end hunger mission aims to feed such people.
We live in a country where the more we do, the less it seems because there are so many people in need that one is overwhelmed in trying to help all. Over the last year, we have tried to touch numerous lives but still, we feel that there is a lot that needs to be done.
The project not only focuses on hunger-stricken people but also on stray animals who have no one to feed them. Stray animals are easily negated in our societies and neighborhoods but just like all of us, their dependence on food is no less. Our team has been able to help such animals by providing them with good quality and adequate amount of food.
The food project, with the help of our volunteers, runs for 365-days a year because of the simple reason that even a day of not working would mean that food would not reach the needy.

The success we have so far seen is all because of people who are willing to help and we need all the help there is possible to touch more and more lives because there is an ample need.
